Reverse Osmosis Equipment

What types of large-scale industrial deionized water equipment are available? How to choose the right equipment for different processes?

Large-scale industrial enterprises in Xinjiang, including mining, chemical, new energy, and power plants, have high water demand. Local groundwater and surface water are generally characterized by high mineralization, excessive hardness, and significant water quality fluctuations, differing significantly from conventional inland water quality. Large-scale industrial deionized water equipment is crucial for ensuring industrial water quality meets standards, preventing scaling and corrosion in pipelines and equipment, and stabilizing product quality. Many enterprises are unclear about the equipment types suitable for Xinjiang's conditions when purchasing, easily leading to problems such as incompatible selection, substandard effluent, and frequent equipment failures.

Currently, deionized water equipment suitable for large-scale industrial scenarios in Xinjiang mainly falls into three mainstream process types: single-stage reverse osmosis deionization equipment, double-stage reverse osmosis deionization equipment, and double-stage reverse osmosis + EDI ultrapure water equipment. These three types of equipment differ significantly in desalination capacity, suitable water quality, and application scenarios, catering to different industrial and mining production needs.

The first type is a single-stage reverse osmosis large-scale deionized water system, a basic industrial water purification device with a desalination rate of over 95%. It effectively removes sediment, colloids, calcium and magnesium ions, and most salt impurities from the water, producing stable effluent that meets general industrial water standards. This equipment is simple in structure, low in cost, easy to operate and maintain, and has a large water production capacity. It is suitable for plants in northern Xinjiang with relatively good water quality and low raw water TDS. It is mainly used for industrial circulating cooling water, equipment cleaning water, and general process water replenishment—scenarios where water purity requirements are not high. It is a cost-effective choice for basic water use in large factories in Xinjiang.

The second type is a two-stage reverse osmosis large-scale deionized water system, a mid-to-high-end water purification process. Through two stages of deep reverse osmosis filtration, the overall desalination rate can reach over 99%. Compared to single-stage equipment, it can thoroughly remove residual salts, heavy metals, and minute impurities from the water, significantly improving the purity of the effluent. For raw water with high hardness and medium mineralization in most parts of Xinjiang, this system effectively solves problems such as excessive water quality and equipment scaling. The effluent meets industry standards for chemical production, new material processing, and general boiler feedwater, and is suitable for most medium and large-sized industrial plants in both northern and southern Xinjiang, offering wider applicability and stronger stability.

The third type is a dual-stage reverse osmosis + EDI integrated deionization water system, the core equipment for high-end industrial ultrapure water production in Xinjiang and currently the preferred solution for high-standard industrial and mining projects. The entire system relies on dual-stage reverse osmosis for initial desalination, followed by deep purification through EDI electro-deionization technology. It eliminates the need for acid and alkali chemical regeneration, is environmentally friendly, and can continuously produce water 24 hours a day, with a stable effluent resistivity of 15-18.2 MΩ·cm. This equipment is specifically designed for harsh water conditions such as brackish water and high-mineralization raw water in southern Xinjiang, perfectly meeting the high-end water needs of photovoltaic new energy, precision electronics, biomedicine, and high-voltage power plant boiler feedwater. It is the mainstream customized equipment for large-scale, high-precision industrial projects in Xinjiang.
